Kasiano sidelined with knee injury

Sam Kasiano will be sidelined for the next eight to ten weeks after suffering a knee injury whilst playing for Samoa on Saturday night.

The 27-year-old ruptured his Posterior Cruciate Ligament in the early stages of the Test against Tonga and took no further part in the match.

He will now commence his rehabilitation in an attempt to be back by the end of the season.

"Sam has unfortunately had a wretched run of luck of late with injury and suspension," Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said.

"It is quite a serious injury, he has ruptured the PCL in his knee which means an eight to ten week lay-off.

"He just needs to work hard now to get back for the end of the season and get some games under his belt.

"With Jesse's injury and Dale still missing we are a bit light on in the forwards. It will test our depth but we have full faith in the boys coming up."
