Origin worthy Green a real threat

Storm fans, players and coaches know full well what Blake Green brings to the table.

Reliable, rock solid and a cool in a crisis.

Green has injected all that and more into a Warriors side that is flying in second-placed on the NRL ladder after the opening seven rounds.

The 31-year-old had the same effect in Melbourne during his two seasons, helping Storm reach the 2016 Grand Final.

Now the 6-1 start by the Warriors this season has them reaping the full benefits of the playmaker who has thrust himself into the discussion for Origin discussion for New South Wales.

"When he came to our team he brought a calming influence over the whole side and he allowed other players around him to do their job the very best they could and I see him doing very much the same at the Warriors," Cameron Smith said.

"We know the style of footy that Blake plays but it's one thing understanding the way he plays and another thing trying to stop it and that's for the whole team to try and do.

"He's been playing very much on the ball, he's at first receiver a lot so he's going to have plenty of touches and be asking a lot of questions."

Storm take on the Warriors in the ANZAC Day blockbuster at 7pm this Wednesday night at AAMI Park.
