If ever you wanted an example of making every minute count, Brandon Smith is the perfect one.

The young utility can be spotted during the game eagerly awaiting the call from the coaches box.

When Craig Bellamy makes the call, Smith is up in a flash and ready to get his hands of the ball.

He has carved out a role in the Storm side as an impact player having come in for Dale Finucane (thumb).

The level of enthusiasm the 21-year-old is bringing to the side has become infectious on his teammates.

“Brandon has come in and he is a feisty little fella,” Kenny Bromwich said.

“He always comes in and does his job pretty well. It is always pleasing to see that when someone gets injured, the next person who comes in is going to do a good job.

“It gives us confidence that the boys are going to come in and do a good job. It is a good opportunity for them to show what they’ve got and to try and hold onto a spot in the side as well.

“It keeps everyone else on their toes and it is good to have strong competition in the squad too.”
