Finucane sidelined with thumb injury

Dale Finucane will be sidelined for at least the next month.

The Storm lock suffered a fractured right thumb in the first half of Friday night’s clash against Cronulla.

Scans on Monday confirmed the injury confirming that Finucane will now be ruled out for the next 4-6 weeks.

It will be the first extended stint on the sidelines for the No.13, who has been incredibly durable in recent years.

Finucane has missed just one game for Melbourne since 2015 and had made a bright start to the 2018 season, averaging nearly 100 metres and 30 tackles per game.

Craig Bellamy will name his replacement on Tuesday at 4pm when Melbourne name their extended squad for this Saturday’s game against Wests Tigers in Auckland.
