Dale Finucane’s phone hasn’t rung, yet.

However if the Storm hard man continues his current run of form he will not leave his fellow New South Welshmen with much choice but to dial his number.

Finucane was named Man of the Match in last week’s win over the Cowboys after amassing a team-high 137 metres.

It was a typically tireless performance from the Storm No.13 and has renewed calls for him to be granted an Origin debut for NSW.

For now the Blues have not reached out to Finucane however with 71 days until Game I there is still plenty of time to let his actions do the talking.

“Obviously it is something that I would love to do, play State of Origin,” Finucane said.

“If I’m playing good football then that is something that could happen but that is for those guys to decide. I’d love the opportunity to do it, I was lucky enough to be involved in the squad last year for the Game III.

“Being in that environment was really good, to get to know the system that the team has… it is something I’d love to do.”
