Games between the Melbourne Storm and Cronulla Sharks are rarely for the faint hearted.

Tough hit-ups, big tackles, fierce competitors, experienced players – they are all the characteristics that have fanned the flame of this recent NRL rivalry.

This week the most recent chapter will be added when Storm venture to Cronulla for a Friday night blockbuster against the Sharks.

It is a challenge the men in purple are certainly looking forward to.

“There is a rivalry there but there is a lot of respect as well,” Joe Stimson said.

“We do enjoy playing the Sharks, they are a physical team and we like to think we are a physical team as well.

“They are a very experienced forward pack, a very physical and aggressive team. We are going to have to try and match that to get through the 80 minutes.”

Storm have a 2-1 record after the opening three rounds following their 16-point win over the Cowboys last week.
