Melbourne Storm have named a 27-man squad to face the Cowboys in Friday night’s testimonial match for Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston.
Billy Slater will be rested as a precaution while Suliasi Vunivalu will not play after pulling up sore following the World Club Challenge – both players are expected to be selected for Round 1.
Jahrome Hughes has been named as Slater’s replacement at fullback while Young Tonumaipea has been named in the right-wing spot.
Both teams will field an extended bench for the testimonial match at Suncorp Stadium in what will be the first meeting between these two teams since the 2017 NRL Grand Final.
