Storm rookie turns lifesaver

A day at the beach with family quickly turned into something much more for Harry Grant over the Christmas break.

Grant and his father went down to Oxley Beach in Port Macquarie, NSW and shortly after arriving spotted two women struggling in the surf.

The Storm rookie reacted quickly, jumping into the water and heading straight out to help the ladies.

Grant was able to swim the first woman back to shore which allowed the second lady to find her way back.

“As soon as it was obvious that no-one else was going to help, Harry jumped into the water and swam out to help,” Grant’s father told Port News.

“Thankfully it was all over within a matter of minutes but it could have had some really bad consequences if no-one had stepped in to help,” Mr Grant said.

It was not quite the experience Grant had expected at the beach but luckily the Storm youngster did not hesitate to lend a heroic hand.
