Rookie of the Year one year, second-year sensation the next.
In a repeat of his 2016 efforts, Vunivalu scored 23 tries to finish as the NRL’s leading try scorer for the second consecutive season.
His career tally of 46 tries from 47 games has seen him break the record for most tries in the first two seasons by any player.
The Fijian Flyer had an incredible finish to 2017, scoring in every one of the final six rounds with a hat trick at AAMI Park in a dominant win over the Rabbitohs proving to be the standout performance.
His most eye-catching feat came earlier in the season against the Dragons in Round 9. In that game Vunivalu collected a pass from Billy Slater five metres from the try line, he then leapt and with his entire body out of bounds but in midair, grounded the football in an effort that had to be seen to be believed.
The winger ranked inside the top 10 in the NRL for kick return metres (41.7 per game) and line breaks (20) as he cemented his place as arguably the most exciting player in the competition.
To top it all off Vunivalu signed a new three-year deal late in the season to ensure Storm fans will continue to enjoy his never ending highlights until at least the end of the 2020 season.
