Melbourne have today announced that Slade Griffin will depart the Club.

After 25 games in the Storm jersey Griffin departs as a premiership player after coming off the bench in Sunday night’s Grand Final triumph over the Cowboys.

The 26-year-old has proved to be one of the most inspiring stories of the 2017 season.

After enduring three knee reconstructions in four years, Griffin showed remarkable courage to work his way back into Craig Bellamy’s side.

His comeback story was fittingly capped off with a premiership ring and an eternal spot in Melbourne’s 2017 premiership winning team.

Griffin will join the Newcastle Knights for the 2018 season.
