Melbourne Storm U20

When you are coming off a 44-point defeat it naturally leads to a bit of soul searching.

However the Thunderbolts are remaining positive and determined to finish the 2017 season on a high note.

Currently holding an 8-12 record, they take on a Roosters side this week that sits just two points above them on the NYC ladder.

Finals may be out of the question this year but there is no shortage of motivation for this young side.

“We still know there is plenty to play for and we need to perform better than we did on the weekend,” Thunderbolts coach Eric Smith said.

“We’ve got three out of four games at home so it is a really good way for us to hopefully finish with some really good performances.

“It is about making sure we finish the season by putting in good performances we know we can produce.

“We played the Roosters not that long ago and that was one of our better performances, coming out with a really good win so going into this weekend’s game hopefully we can draw some good confidence out of that.”
