Storm halfback Cooper Cronk will miss Thursday night's blockbuster against Cronulla.

The 33-year old was withdrawn from Craig Bellamy's squad following a high workload over the past two weeks. The playmaker played two games in 48 hours last week, backing up from Wednesday night's Origin opener for Melbourne's Friday night clash at AAMI Park.

Lining up against Cronulla would have been Cronk's third match in eight days.
