Blake Green was once again the picture of consistency in 2016, playing 24 games for Melbourne and providing a rock-solid halves pairing alongside Cooper Cronk.

He had 23 try and line break assists combined while averaging 110 kick metres per game.

Green’s high standing amongst his teammates came to the fore when he was promoted to Storm’s leadership group prior to the season, also captaining the Club at February’s Auckland Nines tournament.

The five-eighth missed three games due to a knee injury during the Origin period but recovered in time to help Storm secure the 2016 Minor Premiership.

He played his 50th Storm game in the Grand Final and was one of Storm’s best performers on the night coming up with a number of big plays in defence.

The 30-year-old has now departed the Club and will join Manly next season.
