Sunshine Coast Falcons

There is something special brewing on the Sunshine Coast this season after the Falcons blew CQ Capras off the park on Sunday.

The 52-14 win at home has now seen the Falcons moved one-point clear inside the top six and on the cusp of their first final appearance since 2010.

Nine Storm players were a part of the victory on the weekend as both Ryan Morgan and Jake Turpin both scored doubles.

Joe Stimson scored the Falcons first of the day after 15 minutes while adding eight of nine conversions.

But it was Morgan’s dominance on the left edge that was the biggest standout.

“His attitude towards everything is really professional which certainly helps the footy team,” Falcons coach Craig Ingebrigtsen said.

“We know Ryan has played 90 odd NRL games and has plenty of experience…. he’s come back here with the right mindset, the right attitude.

“That is something the other boys pick up on and it become infectious. That is a really good thing, give Ryan his due. It’s like he’s playing for his life every time he plays.”

Sunshine Coast will be back at home next Sunday and will prepare to face eighth-placed Wynnum Manly Seagulls.

A win would almost assure them of a semi-final berth in two weeks time.
