Storm forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been nominated for the prestigious Ken Stephen Medal for his significant contribution to the community through Rugby League.

Vote for Nelson here!

Despite only being 20 years old, Storm forward Nelson Asofa Solomona has showed that he has what it takes to be a fantastic community role model for many years to come.

Nelson took it upon himself, outside of club commitments, to visit kids having treatment for cancer at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. The smiles on the children's faces kept Nelson coming back and also encouraged him to bring several of his team mates to visit a young boy with bone cancer, organising a signed jersey for the young fan.

Clearly moved by the impact he can not only have on the kids, Nelson has also been a shoulder for families when visiting. The forward with a bright future in the game highlights working through his own wellbeing journal as the driving force behind his acts of empathy and kindness.

Nelson is a first time nominee for the Ken Stephen Medal and is one of the youngest nominees in 2016.
