After a strong 2016 campaign to date, Storm Coach Craig Bellamy has declared his lock forward Dale Finucane is ‘made for Origin’.

Ahead of the 24-year old’s 100th first-grade game on Monday night against the Eels, the Storm coach explained how Finucane has relished an increase in responsibility and game time in 2016.

“He’s had a huge impact (on our team), I think this year he’s had even more of an impact,” Bellamy said.

Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Panthers, Saturday 4 June, 7:30pm.

“Last year he was a wonderful player for us but I think he’s gone a step further this year.

“He brings a very high work rate, he brings a real toughness and aggressiveness to this team as well.

“I’m a little bit surprised I haven’t seen his name mentioned for Origin.

“He’s playing a lot more minutes this year than he did last year, he’s playing a lot more minutes than he did at the Bulldogs.

“I’m sure at some stage he’ll get a run at rep footy because he’s made for Origin.”
