It is a tough ask for any player to join a team mid-season but Ryan Morgan has had not trouble fitting into his Melbourne surroundings.
Morgan joined Storm last week and will be a welcome addition into Craig Bellamy’s side. The 26-year-old has signed a contract with the Club until the end of the 2016 season.
The former Parramatta Eels outside back has played 84 NRL games, scoring 29 tries.
Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Panthers, Saturday 4 June, 7:30pm.
Morgan has not spent long at the Club but it has been enough to make him feel at home.
“It’s been pretty good. It’s been exciting down here, very professional outfit and I’ve been loving it so far,” Morgan said.
“I’ve heard off everyone who has been here in the past that it is a great club to be at. I just wanted to be a part of that.
“They are a winning club with a winning culture. You can tell that just from being around this place so far.
“Everyone speaks so highly of all the staff and players that are down here so that is probably what excited me the most about coming down here.”
Storm have endured significant injuries to their outside backs in the early part of the season.
Eight different combinations in the opening nine rounds have left Storm seeking stability on their edges.
“That is the reason we signed another outside back and we were lucky enough to get Ryan,” Storm coach Craig Bellamy said.
“I think it is a big ask to throw him in, in our first week. We’d like to give him at least one game with our Feeder team and go from there.
“We certainly see him playing a part sooner rather than later.”
Storm take on the Cowboys this weekend at Suncorp Stadium. Kick-off 5.30pm.
