Media reports today have suggested Victoria is making a bid to host the NRL Grand Final in the future.
With the NSW Government’s announcement yesterday of a redevelopment of Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, Victorian Sports Minister John Eren opened the door on the possibility of hosting the Grand Final in Melbourne.
"The offer is on the table,” Eren told Channel 7.
"If you want a successful event where we will get over 90,000 attending and hopefully break another crowd record, I'd have it right here in Melbourne."
"All we need are the goalposts.”
Last year, Melbourne broke the State of Origin all time crowd record when 91,513 people attended Game 2 of the series.
