Jersey Flegg Report: Round 9

Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side travelled to Newcastle over the weekend to face the Knights, falling 44-22 in a tough contest.

Storm made a slow start, managing just one try in the opening half through David Tuariki in the 32nd minute. The Knights controlled the opening 40 minutes, crossing for four tries to take a 22-6 lead into the break.

Melbourne responded after halftime, striking first to shift momentum and added two more tries in the second half. Tyrell Hopkins was a standout, scoring a double, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

The Jersey Flegg side will look to bounce back this weekend when they host the Wests Tigers at Gosch’s Paddock on Saturday.
