Storm to go purple at the Nines
Melbourne Storm has today released the Club’s 2016 Auckland Nines jersey in conjunction with apparel partner STAR.
The 2016 Auckland Nines jersey features a predominantly purple design with navy trimmings while including a repeated ‘V’ pattern, representing the Club’s Victorian roots. A powerful, striking lightning bolt down the middle of the chest sits as the centrepiece of the design.
Sleeves will also return to the jersey for the tournament in Auckland after Storm created history alongside Wests Tigers in 2015 becoming the first Clubs to wear sleeveless jerseys.
Both player cut and retail versions of the Nines outfit will see cutting edge technology used by apparel partner STAR.
STAR Shield technology allows each individual playing strip to stretch without compromising the jersey’s shape while STAR Lite will keep players cool and jerseys light during warm pre-season conditions.
The NRL Auckland Nines will take place at Auckland’s Eden Park on February 6 and 7 next year with all 16 NRL clubs vying for thefirst trophy on offer in 2016.
Melbourne has been drawn in the Waiheke pool, alongside the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Parramatta Eels and Sydney Roosters.
