Craig Bellamy says his side will have gained plenty of confidence from last round's win over Cronulla and will aim to bring that into Monday night's meeting with Newcastle.

Storm held the red hot Sharks to just two points at Remondis Stadium on Monday night, running out 30-2 victors and this week face Danny Buderus' Knights looking to make it three wins in a row.

"You're always up and about after a good win like that," Bellamy said.

"The score flattered us a little bit at the end but having said that we defended great the whole game.

"It is really good for confidence and it is just nice to play like that and I think the team needed it too.

"They were perhaps frustrated with the inconsistency of our defence throughout different times of the year but to defend like that and keep Cronulla tryless after the eight or nine weeks they've had hopefully that tells us we are doing a few things right."

Be there for Monday Mates Night at AAMI Park when Storm host the Knights on Monday 24 August!
