Storm's representative contingent returned to training on Thursday, three days out from their Round 9 meeting with Parramatta on Sunday.

While Craig Bellamy said the preparation for Sunday was changed slightly, it was important to give players with a high workload the necessary rest.

"It's not ideal," Bellamy said.

"A lot of our other guys had a good break, the guys that played rep footy on Saturday and Sunday, we wanted to give them a break as well.

"While it sort restricts our preparations for this game, hopefully we get some reward down the track."

With their last match coming against the Sea Eagles on ANZAC Day 12 days ago, the Storm coach said the time over the representative weekend was a good chance to reflect.

"We had a bit of time there, we did a bit of reflecting," Bellamy said.

"There was a couple of things that we came up with that we think we can improve on.

"Overall I thought our effort in the first eight weeks has been really good."
