For the first time in Melbourne Storm’s history, the Club will wear a sleeveless jersey as part of an NRL competition. The team will wear the innovative playing strip in the Auckland Nines tournament being held on January 31 – February 1.

Designed in collaboration with the Club’s apparel partner BLK, the strip is an acknowledgement of Storm’s Victorian heritage in its AFL-style design, yet maintains the Club’s traditional purple and navy colour base.

The playing squad was involved in the design process, with the sleeveless look providing an edge in the fast paced knock-out tournament that will be played in the middle of summer. The players will also wear specially designed crew socks to complete the radical new look.
