Overview:

Will Chambers backed up an impressive 2013 season, continuing to be one of Melbourne’s most prolific attacking outlets in 2014.

The outside back scored 11 tries for the season with his versatility and quick turn of pace always dangerous. Continually posing a threat to opposition defences, the 26-year old finished inside the top five at Melbourne for runs made and line breaks.

Defensively, the Nhulunbury junior was solid at the back for Melbourne throughout the year, finishing fifth for tries scored at the Club.

Chambers’ form at Club level over the past few seasons was rewarded in the representative arena mid-year when he made his Origin debut for Queensland in the final match of the 2014 series.

Chambers narrowly missed selection in Tim Sheens’ Kangaroos squad for the Four Nations after initially earning selection in the train-on squad and playing in the Prime Ministers XIII.

2014 ‘Moment’:

Chambers’ try against Wests Tigers in Melbourne’s Round 21 victory highlighted the representative centre’s attacking ability. Splitting the defence wide open, Chambers’ slicing run set the tone for the evening and was one of Storm’s tries of the year.
