Melbourne Storm RLC welcomes the appointment of Danielle Smith to the Board of Directors of the Club.

Danielle, currently the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at Storm, will join CEO Mark Evans as an Executive Director, with the Club’s owners voting to elect her on to the Board at their meeting on 6 August.

Storm’s ownership group comprises Chairman Bart Campbell, Gerry Ryan, Matthew Tripp and Michael Watt.

Danielle is a chartered accountant with 20 years’ experience, including 13 years in the sport and entertainment industry.  After commencing her career with big four advisory firm, KPMG, Danielle’s career has included senior roles with Geelong Football Club, Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation, and global whitegoods giant, Whirlpool. She joined Melbourne Storm almost three years ago and had a key involvement in the transition to new ownership in 2013.

“It’s an honour to join the Board of the Storm and I’m looking forward to having a greater role in driving our Club’s future prosperity,” Danielle said of her appointment.

Chairman Bart Campbell said: “Danielle’s appointment is just reward for her ability and her commitment to the Club and she adds further financial and governance expertise to the Board.

“Danielle has been an outstanding asset for the Storm during her time at the Club and the Board is looking forward to her continued contribution.”
