Billy Slater is looking forward to a new year and a new season. He talks to Storm TV about what 2014 will bring for himself and Melbourne Storm.

Although finishing the year disappointingly in 2013, Slater is confident Melbourne can build on plenty of positives from last season.

"Its an exciting year for us, 2014. We didn't finish the way we wanted to last year," Slater said speaking

"In saying that, we worked into a really good position, we were pretty consistent all year and got ourselves in a great spot but we just didn't finish the job off with the spark we would have liked to."

With eight new faces joining the Storm first-grade squad in 2014, Slater is eager to see what Melbourne's recruits can bring to the squad for the new year.

"2014 is looking really good, we've got some new faces around the club and some exciting players," Slater said.

"You look at the likes of Ben Roberts and Joel Romelo that have come from other clubs, they certainly are going to bring different aspects of their game to our team.

"Hopefully everyone can really gel together and fit in well. Its pretty exciting, I'm looking forward to the season."
