Melbourne Storm has confirmed its coaching structure across the Club's Pathways program ahead of the 2027 season.
Todd Lowrie has been appointed Head Coach of the NSW Cup team for 2027 while continuing his role as NRL Development Coach. Lowrie will step into the role after the club’s inaugural NSW Cup season in 2026, building on the work of Mark Russell and further strengthening the connection between the NRL squad and Pathways programs.
Dan Murphy will return as Head Coach of the Jersey Flegg U21s in 2027, continuing his strong work developing the Club’s young talent. Murphy will work closely with Lowrie across Storm’s two most senior NSWRL teams.
Storm welcomes Jy Clapham from the Illawarra Steelers as the new SG Ball U19s Head Coach. Clapham brings strong experience and will lead the side as Storm look to build on two consecutive seasons reaching finals in the under-19 competition.
Caine Sinclair will again coach the all-Victorian Harold Matthews U17s team after a successful first season in charge. Sinclair will lead the young Victorian side, with many featuring in their first season of Junior Representative Football in the NSWRL.
At an Academy level, the Club's Senior Academy and Junior Academy squads will be coached by Matt Duffie assisted by the recently retired Tui Kamikamaca. Duffie will also oversee the coaching of Storm’s Junior Representative teams, with Academy players continuing to train and play across the NSW Cup, Jersey Flegg and SG Ball programs. Kamikamica will also work as a contact coach across the Pathways system.
The 2027 coaching structure further strengthens Storm’s Pathway from junior representative football through to the NRL, providing the Club’s next generation of players with opportunities to develop and progress through the system on the road to AAMI Park.
