Jersey Flegg Report: Round 26

Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side has gone down 36-26 to the Kaiviti Silktails in the inaugural Tui Kamikamica Bowl at Churchill Park in Lautoka. 

The match marked the beginning of a perpetual Bowl between the two clubs, honouring recently retired Storm forward and Fiji Bati Captain Tui Kamikamica. 

Storm made a strong start to the contest, with Victory Isaako opening Melbourne’s account in the ninth minute. 

The Silktails responded with points of their own before Joseph Litidamu crossed in the 24th minute to keep Storm within reach. 

Victory Isaako then added his second try of the afternoon in the 32nd minute, with the Storm heading into the half-time break locked at 16-all. 

Melbourne continued to battle throughout the second half, with Ben Stringer crossing in the 62nd minute to give Storm another attacking spark. 

Victory Isaako completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute, adding another try to his impressive afternoon. 

The Storm continued to fight until the final whistle but the Silktails held on to secure the 36-26 victory. 

Despite the result, the occasion marked a significant moment for both clubs, with the inaugural Tui Kamikamica Bowl celebrating the contribution of one of Fiji Rugby League’s finest modern-day players. 

The result brings the Storm’s 2026 Jersey Flegg campaign to a close, with the side finishing the season with valuable experience gained throughout the year.
