Jersey Flegg Report: Round 22

Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side fought back in the second half to secure a hard-earned 22-22 draw against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 22.  

The Bulldogs struck first before Storm responded through Victory Isaako, who crossed in the 14th minute to finish off a strong attacking movement. Isaako converted his own try to level the scores but the visitors regained the lead to take a 12–6 advantage into halftime. 

Storm returned with renewed energy after the break and quickly closed the gap through Matthew Kereti, who crossed just two minutes into the second half. 

Momentum continued to build for Melbourne as Ronnic Starkey produced an outstanding individual performance, scoring back-to-back tries in the 54th and 58th minutes to hand Melbourne the lead. 

The Bulldogs managed to find a late try to level the scores in the 77th minute, with both sides unable to find a match-winner in the final moments.  

Despite missing out on victory, Storm showed plenty of resilience to overturn a halftime deficit, with Starkey's second half double proving to be the standout in another determined performance. 

Storm will now turn their attention to next week's home clash against the Sea Eagles as they look to return to the winner's list.
