NSW Cup Report: Round 19

Melbourne Storm’s NSW Cup side produced a spirited effort to defeat a tough Newtown Jets outfit 20-18 in their Round 19 clash.

Storm made a fast start, Gabriel Satrick channelling his soccer skills to grubber forward a loose ball and regain possession to score just in the 1st minute.

Satrick was at his scheming best once again just a few moments later, fooling the Jets defence with a dummy and crashing over in the 9th minute.

The Jets then applied some pressure of their own to round out the first half, scoring three tries on the bounce to take a 16-10 lead into halftime.

Storm then took control after the interval, coming back and finding their try scoring form once more through Liam Williams in the 59th minute and Stanley Huen in the 66th minute.

Some resolute Storm defence repelled wave after wave of desperate Jets attack to secure the impressive win on the road.

Coming off their win, Melbourne Storm’s NSW Cup side will now turn their attention to Round 20 against the Roosters in Sydney.
