Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side secured a 34-12 victory over the Parramatta Eels in Kellyville on Saturday, producing a strong performance in Round 17.
Storm controlled the contest from the outset and were rewarded when Amare Milford crossed in the 17th minute. Dylan Brettle crossed shortly after as Storm established control of the match.
Cruz Dangerfield added another try late in the first half, helping Storm build their 18-0 lead heading into the break.
Amare Milford secured his second try of the match in the second half to continue Storm’s momentum before Victory Isaako added his name to the scoresheet, crossing in the 68th minute.
Victory Isaako then finished off a strong individual performance with his second try in the closing stages, completing Melbourne’s six-try display. Isaako was influential throughout the contest, also adding five conversions in an outstanding all-round performance.
Melbourne’s defence was equally as impressive, holding Paramatta scoreless until late in the second half before securing a 34-12 victory.
Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side currently sit 10th on the ladder with eight rounds remaining.
The team will enjoy a well-earned bye in Round 18 before turning their focus to a strong finish to the season as they push for a finals berth.
