Storm confirmed for Las Vegas 2027

Melbourne Storm is excited to confirm it will open its 2027 NRL Premiership campaign in Las Vegas, taking part in the fourth edition of the NRL’s spectacular season opening event in the United States.

Melbourne will face the Wests Tigers at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday 27 February (Sunday 28 February Australia Time), with Storm looking to extend the Club’s extraordinary Round 1 winning streak, dating back to 2002.

The world-class Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, has hosted some of the biggest sporting and entertainment events in the world, including the Super Bowl.

The 65,000 seat venue will provide the stage for Storm’s first Premiership game played outside Australia and New Zealand. Melbourne Storm has previously played three World Club Challenge matches in England (2000, 2010 and 2013), as well as a trial game in Fiji against the Newcastle Knights in 2023.

Storm will feature alongside the Wests Tigers, Parramatta Eels and Gold Coast Titans, while English Super League teams Bradford Bulls and Leigh Leopards will open the day in a blockbuster clash.

The week leading into the event will include fan activations, community initiatives and celebrations of rugby league across the famous Las Vegas Strip.

Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the Club was thrilled to be part of the landmark event.

“We’re delighted to be kicking off our 2027 season in Las Vegas,” Rodski said.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for our players, coaches and wider Club to be part of an international event that has quickly become a highlight of the NRL season and the sporting calendar in Australia.

“I know our members, fans and corporate partners will love the chance to be involved in such a special experience and enjoy a once in a lifetime trip to one of the entertainment capitals of the world.

“We hope to paint the famous Sin City strip with a sea of purple, showcasing our Club and the Storm brand on a global stage, while proudly representing Melbourne and Victoria in the US sporting market.

“With NRL travel packages on sale today and member pre-sale tickets in a few weeks, we’re hoping to see as many Storm members and fans as possible pack out Allegiant Stadium, just like they do back home in Melbourne.”

Tickets and travel packages, including a Melbourne Storm themed charter flight to Las Vegas, are available now at vegastravel.nrl.com

Tickets for Club Members, purchased outside of the NRL travel package exclusive window, will go on sale on Thursday 11 June, with general public tickets on sale from Friday 12 June.
