Storm’s NSW Cup side secured a 32-24 victory over the New Zealand Warriors at AAMI Park, showcasing an impressive attacking performance across the full 80 minutes.
Storm made a fast start, with K-CI Newton-Whare and Declan Casey crossing in the opening five minutes to set the tone. Hugo Peel then took control of the match, scoring three first half tries to complete a standout hat-trick performance.
The Warriors responded in the second half to close the gap, but Storm maintained composure under pressure. A penalty goal from Trent Toelau helped steady the ship for the hosts before Blake Kehl crossed in the 61st minute to seal the deal.
Trent Toelau and Keagan Russell-Smith both contributed with the boot, combining for three conversions to help guide Storm to victory.
Storm will now prepare for Round 7, where they will face the Raiders at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan on Saturday the 18th of April.
