Storm brewing in Western Australia

Tickets for Melbourne Storm’s August showdown with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in Perth are now on sale.

Craig Bellamy’s side will travel to Western Australia for the Round 23 contest on Saturday August 8 at HBF Park in what will be the Club’s seventh trip west and its first since 2018.

The fixture comes at an exciting time for rugby league in Western Australia ahead of the Perth Bears debut season in 2027 and will be the last chance the WA public will have to see first-grade rugby league this year.

Headlined by representative superstars Harry Grant, Cameron Munster, Jahrome Hughes and Xavier Coates, Storm will face off against a Manly side hungry to taste finals football in 2026.

Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski explained the fixture presented an exciting opportunity.

“We know there is a lot of passion for rugby league in Western Australia, and we’re excited to be bringing the Melbourne Storm to Perth ahead of the Bears first season in the NRL next year.”

“It has been nearly 10 years since the Storm have been in WA, we have a lot of support in the West, and look forward to putting on a show in front of a packed house at HBF Park in August.

“It is also exciting for us to engage with the community in more ways than just the game, we will be hosting more than 100 of our corporate supporters for a two-day experience, as well as supporting a number of grassroots opportunities, including working with NRL Western Australia with local coaching and community rugby league clinics during our visit.”

HBF Park will play host to the contest between the two rivals with Storm’s last trip to the venue coming in 2017, the same year the Club took home the NRL Premiership.

VenuesWest incoming CEO Janis Carren commented on the excitement that is building at HBF Park.

“HBF Park is a world class venue built to host elite national sporting events, and the Storm fixture is an excellent opportunity to showcase the facilities in NRL mode before the Bears make it their home,” Carren said.

“NRL participation is growing in Western Australia. Bringing these games to Perth is great for the future of the sport and it’s exciting to be a part of.”

Tickets for this match are expected to be in high demand, with a strong contingent of Storm fans expected to make the trip interstate to support their side in addition to local rugby league fans eager to get a taste of top-flight rugby league.

Storm have partnered with Kogan Travel to offer exclusive travel packages to Storm fans keen to head West for the clash in Perth. The deal covers two and three night packages which include flights, accommodation and reserved seat tickets.

Tickets start at $10 for kids and $29 for adults and will be available from 11am today AWST from Ticketmaster.

The match is supported by VenuesWest as well as by the Perth Bears.
