Melbourne Storm is proud to announce the Club has achieved its highest-ever membership tally by the start of a season, surpassing 30,000 members by Round 1 for the first time in its 28-year history.
With 30,072 members signed up ahead of the 2026 Round 1 fixture, the figure eclipses the previous record of 28,435 members at Round 1 last season. The milestone reflects sustained growth in recent seasons, with Storm recording 21,739 members ahead of Round 1 in 2023, growing to 24,250 in 2024, and accelerating sharply across the past year.
The achievement comes on the eve of a blockbuster season opener against the Parramatta Eels at AAMI Park on Thursday night and follows a record-breaking 2025 campaign, which saw Storm reach an all-time high overall membership of 40,237.
Storm’s membership base has increased by 40 per cent over the past four seasons, culminating in this historic Round 1 result. Building on the momentum of the Club’s 2025 record, Storm now sets its sights on surpassing 45,000 members in 2026 as demand for membership continues to grow.
Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the milestone is a testament to the passion and loyalty of Storm members and fans.
“On behalf of the Club, our thanks go out to each and every one of our members who have jumped on board so far for the 2026 season and helped us reach this record-breaking membership figure ahead of a Round 1 game,” Rodski said.
“Thursday night is a huge occasion for our Club, opening the 2026 NRL season in Australia following the success of Vegas, and we’re incredibly proud to have the support of the purple army in such big numbers heading into the year.
“With a massive 2026 season ahead, we’re excited to continue building our membership base and the momentum we’ve created year on year, as part of our goal to consistently fill and pack out AAMI Park.”
Thursday night’s opener against Parramatta will be followed by the Storm v Broncos Grand Final rematch in Round 3 at AAMI Park, where another bumper crowd is expected.
