Storm’s SG Ball (U19) and Harold Matthews (U17) travelled to Canberra last weekend to face the Raiders in Round 4 of the junior competition. It was another mixed weekend for the Storm, with the SG Ball side continuing their winning streak, while the Harold Matthews team fell short against the Raiders.
SG Ball (U19)
Storm’s U19 team showcased an impressive second-half comeback to defeat the Raiders 28-22.
The first half proved to be a challenge for Storm, with the Raiders applying strong offensive pressure to take a 22-10 lead into half-time. Alize Clarke opened the scoring for Storm, while a try to Hayden Watson just before half-time kept Storm within reach.
Storm responded strongly after the break, with Isaiah Savea crossing twice in quick succession early in the second half.
Joseph Litidamu secured the comeback with his try, giving Storm the lead for the first time in the match in the 63rd minute. Riley Brannock was reliable with the boot converting four tries to aid Storm in their 28-22 victory.
