Last year, Meerah Sehgal was named the 2025 NRL Female Youth Ambassador after representing Melbourne Storm at the annual NRL Indigenous Youth Summit, recognising her leadership potential and strong commitment to community.
As part of her ongoing Ambassador role, Meerah will travel to Hamilton, New Zealand, on 12 February to attend the annual NRL Indigenous All Stars match, an exciting opportunity in her continued development.
Throughout the week, Meerah will engage with NRL players from both the men’s and women’s competitions, take part in media opportunities, experience the richness of Māori culture, and gain behind the scenes insight into the preparation and delivery of a major representative event.
She will also be involved in game day activities and have the opportunity to connect with high profile leaders and role models from across the rugby league community.
“The past six months have been such an amazing experience for me since the Indigenous Youth Summit…it has opened so many incredible opportunities, and this is a highlight,“ Meerah said.
“Flying to New Zealand, experiencing Māori culture and meeting so many inspiring people is going to be incredible.”
“To share this experience with other First Nations and Māori peoples will help strengthen my growth and development.”
The NRL Indigenous All Stars match remains one of the most significant events on the rugby league calendar, celebrating the achievements, culture and heritage of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Māori players.
We wish Meerah Sehgal all the best as she travels to New Zealand.
