Melbourne Storm shareholder and board member, Gerry Ryan has been awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) as part of 2026’s Australia Day Honours List.

The Club would like to congratulate Gerry on this well-deserved honour which comes in recognition of his service to the community, tourism, hospitality and sports governance and business.

Gerry’s care and unwavering passion for Storm and it’s people has been evident over the last decade and beyond. His generosity and support in Australia’s sporting landscape is also not just limited to Storm with his impact felt in various sports, including road and track cycling, basketball, horse racing, and AFL, where he passionately supports his beloved Saints.

In 2024, Ryan was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, recognised for his contribution to Sports Administration.

1998: Made a Life Member of the St Kilda Football Club
2000: Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia
2013: Awarded the Australian Olympic Committee Order of Merit
2015: Inducted into the Cycling Australia (AusCycling) Hall of Fame
2022: Made a Life Member of Melbourne Storm
2024: Inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame
