Melbourne Storm’s return to the Sunshine Coast Stadium has been confirmed with Craig Bellamy’s side hosting the Gold Coast Titans for a pre-season challenge game on Saturday 21 February.
The game will serve as Storm’s final pre-season hit out ahead of the 2026 NRL season, with Bellamy expected to name a strong and experienced squad as preparations ramp up for Round 1.
The fixture also marks Storm’s first return to the Sunshine Coast since the 2021 NRL Finals Series. Storm spent an extended period based on the Sunshine Coast throughout the COVID-impacted 2020 and 2021 seasons, including the Club’s 2020 Premiership campaign, creating long-lasting ties with the region.
In the lead-up to the match, Storm will base themselves on the Sunshine Coast for the week, hosting an open training session and engaging with local fans and community groups as part of their preparations.
Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the Club was thrilled to be reconnecting with the region.
“We’re excited to be returning to the Sunshine Coast, a region we have traditionally had a strong connection with for our final pre-season game for 2026,” Rodski said.
“We have incredible memories from our time there and always have fantastic support. We’re looking forward to giving our members and fans in Queensland the chance to see the team up close before the season kicks off.”
Sunshine Coast Resilient Economy Councillor Terry Landsberg acknowledged Storm’s visit as one which will excite locals and benefit the region.
“Hosting Storm as they take on the Titans at our very own stadium on the Sunshine Coast is very exciting for our region and particularly for local NRL fans of all ages,” Cr Landsberg said.”
“It’s likely to be the last NRL action we experience on the Sunshine Coast in 2026, so tickets are expected to sell fast.
“The Sunshine Coast offers terrific travel and accommodation options for Storm and Titans supporters, and anyone looking to use the game as an opportunity for a weekend getaway.
“It’s great to welcome NRL action back to the Sunshine Coast, showcasing our beautiful home to audiences around the globe and inspiring others to experience it for themselves.
