Melbourne Storm congratulates captain Harry Grant, who has been awarded the IRL Golden Boot for 2025, recognising his outstanding performances for the Australian Kangaroos.
Grant becomes the first Storm player to claim the prestigious honour since former captain Cameron Smith, and the first hooker to win the award since Smith’s standout season in 2017.
The Yeppoon Seagulls junior enjoyed an impressive representative campaign on the Kangaroos’ Ashes tour of England, playing all three Tests at hooker and captaining Australia for the first time in the Second Test, a 14-4 victory over England. Across the series, Grant recorded 1 try, 248 run metres and 116 tackles, and played every minute of all three matches.
Grant’s representative achievements in 2025 also included three appearances for Queensland in their 2-1 State of Origin series win over New South Wales.
At club level, Grant captained Melbourne Storm to consecutive Grand Final appearances, featuring in 19 games, scoring five tries and finishing the NRL season with 770 tackles.
“Harry’s performances for the Kangaroos were outstanding, and this award is incredibly well deserved. It’s a proud moment for him and for our Club,” Storm CEO Justin Rodski said.
“As Storm captain, Harry sets the standard every day. His leadership and consistency are second to none, and this recognition reflects the player and person he is.”
Grant joins an illustrious group of Storm players to have won the IRL Golden Boot, including Cameron Smith (2017, 2007), Cooper Cronk (2016), Greg Inglis (2009) and Billy Slater (2008).
