Melbourne Storm is proud to announce the selection of the 2026 Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale squads, marking an exciting and historic step forward in the Club’s female pathways program.
Storm’s first ever official female sides will play a key role in the Club’s expanded pathways system in 2026, entering the U17 and U19 NSWRL competitions, with an eye towards a future NRLW license.
The introduction of the two teams follows the success of Storm’s Female Development squad over the past two seasons, forming a key part of the Club’s long-term "Road to AAMI Park" strategy.
“We’re delighted to announce our Storm U17 and U19 squads for 2026,” said Female Pathways Manager, Pauline Poloai.
“Both teams showcase an exciting mix of talent from across Victoria, reflecting our commitment to developing strong female pathways, from grassroots, schools, and local clubs, through to a future NRLW program.”
As part of the announcement, the Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Jack Gould as Storm Female Pathways Coach.
Gould will oversee both the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale coaching programs, ensuring alignment across the pathways and continued development for young players, both on and off the field.
He joins Storm after five years with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, most recently serving as Female Pathways Coordinator, where he played a key role in the development of pathway players into the Sharks’ NRLW program.
In recognition of his impact, Gould was named the Sharks’ Club Person of the Year in October.
Speaking on his appointment, Gould said: “I’m really excited to be joining Storm and helping shape the development of our female pathways from the ground up.
“The talent coming through Victoria is incredible, and I’m passionate about creating an environment where our young players can develop, learn and genuinely see a future in rugby league and at Melbourne Storm.
“To be part of the journey as Storm expands its female pathway with a focus on building towards a future NRLW licence is something that I’m really proud of and can’t wait to get started.”
Melbourne Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said the announcement of the Club’s female squads and the appointment of Jack Gould represented another important milestone in Storm’s broader pathways strategy.
“The introduction of our U17 and U19 female squads, together with Jack Gould’s appointment, marks another significant step in growing rugby league participation and development across Melbourne and Victoria.
“Alongside our established male pathways and the introduction of a men’s NSW Cup team in 2026, we’re creating a clear, connected system from grassroots rugby league through to the professional game.”
