Pezet to depart Melbourne Storm

Melbourne Storm has today confirmed the departure of halfback Jonah Pezet.

Pezet, who played 18 NRL games over four seasons with Melbourne, will depart the Club with immediate effect to join the Parramatta Eels for the 2026 season.

Storm player #229, Pezet made his NRL debut against the Gold Coast Titans in Round 3 2023. The playmaker went on to feature in six more games during his debut season and played a key role in guiding the Brisbane Tigers to the 2023 HostPlus Cup, their first Premiership in 32 years.

After overcoming consecutive long-term knee injuries, Pezet returned to Melbourne’s NRL lineup in Round 18 this season, making eight appearances in 2025, including a standout performance in the Qualifying Final victory over the Bulldogs.

Storm Director of Football, Frank Ponissi, thanked Pezet for his contribution to the Club.

“Jonah has been a much-loved member of our squad for the past four years. He has worked incredibly hard to overcome his injury setbacks, displaying great character and a positive attitude throughout his time at Storm.

“While we’re disappointed to lose a player of Jonah’s talent, we understand his decision to explore his options. We thank Jonah for his service to our Club and wish him the best for his next chapter.”
