Melbourne Storm is proud to welcome DebtManagers as the Club’s new Community Partner, supporting the continued growth and impact of the Storm Waka School Holiday Program.
DebtManagers has signed a one-year partnership agreement with the Club, with their branding to feature on the shirts and jumpers worn by Storm Waka participants throughout the school holiday program.
DebtManagers is a purpose-driven organisation committed to helping people achieve financial independence through ethical and compassionate debt solutions. The company is dedicated to creating a fairer financial world where everyone can thrive and actively seeks partnerships with like-minded organisations that focus on building real-life skills, belonging and opportunity.
The Storm Waka School Holiday Program, supported by the Victorian Government Department of Education, targets young people aged 10 to 18, predominantly from Pasifika backgrounds, and provides culturally led workshops that focus on leadership, resilience, empathy, and values.
The program also includes cultural connection and celebration workshops, run in collaboration with local Pasifika community organisations, creating a safe and empowering space for young people to explore identity and community, while also participating in rugby league activities.
The Storm Waka School Holiday program officially launched in January, with 53 young people attending across three days of immersive workshops. Since then, the Club has delivered five more programs across the course of the year with the most recent workshops taking place at Casey Warriors Rugby League Club (23-25 September) and Hallam Recreation Reserve (29 September-1 October).
Melbourne Storm CEO Justin Rodski welcomed the new partnership: “We’re excited to have DebtManagers on board as our Community Partner. Their commitment to fairness, community empowerment and opportunity aligns strongly with the goals of the program. Together, we’re helping shape the next generation of leaders, both on and off the field.”
Mark Francis, Executive General Manager at DebtManagers, added: “We are thrilled to be joining Melbourne Storm and sponsoring the Storm Waka School Holiday Program. DebtManagers believes in creating a fairer financial world where everyone can thrive, and we look to partner with like-minded organisations to extend this commitment to building real-life skills, belonging and opportunity.
“Storm Waka reflects our values and our desire to create positive transformation in people’s lives, and we know the incredible power of sport to support wellbeing, teach skills, build resilience and open new opportunities for young people and their families.
“Grounded in Māori and Pasifika culture-led workshops alongside rugby league, the program helps turn potential into purpose. We look forward to working alongside the Melbourne Storm team to help the program grow and achieve its ambitions.”
