Melbourne Storm’s U18 Hurricanes have completed their two-game tour of Queensland, coming away with two wins from two matches.
On Sunday, the U18 Storm side faced off against an U18 Dolphins squad coming away 36-22 winners in a high scoring encounter. The match was played as a curtain raiser to the Queensland Cup semi-final between Norths Devils and Wynnum Manly which was a great experience for the young outfit.
The second game of the tour came against the Sunshine Coast Falcons U18s on Tuesday with Storm making it two wins from two thanks to an impressive attacking performance. The 42-18 victory built on Sunday’s strong performance and capped off a successful and productive few days for the group.
Standouts across the two games included Souths Acacia Ridge junior Ronnic Starkey alongside Victorian trio Wivenshalom Tyrell (Altona Roosters), Matt Kereti (Altona Roosters) and Jactin Samaeli (Waverley Panthers / Casey Warriors).
Tyrell, Kereti and Samaeli are three of 14 Victorian players in the 21-man squad to make the trip to Queensland as the Club looks to build towards the 2026 SG Ball season after a successful 2025 campaign under Matt Duffie which saw Storm play two weeks of finals football.
