Feeder Report: Round 23 and Round 26

Melbourne Storm’s feeder teams — the Sunshine Coast Falcons, Brisbane Tigers and North Sydney Bears — were in action over the weekend, competing in the final rounds of their respective competitions: Round 23 of the Queensland Cup and Round 25 of the NSW Cup.

Sunshine Coast Falcons

The Falcons suffered a 14-38 loss to the Burleigh Bears, who secured the Hostplus Cup minor premiership with the win.

It was a tough first half for the Falcons, who trailed 0-28 at the break. They responded strongly in the second half with two tries but were unable to overcome the early deficit.

A positive for the side was the return of Sua Fa'alogo, playing his first match in eight weeks after a hamstring injury.

The Falcons finished fifth on the ladder, qualifying for the 2025 finals. They will face Ipswich Jets this Sunday in an Elimination Final.

Brisbane Tigers

The Tigers went down 14-22 to Wynnum Manly Seagulls.

Brisbane started well, taking a narrow 10-6 lead into half-time, but the Seagulls dominated the second half. Missed conversions proved costly, and a late try to Wynnum sealed the result.

Keagan Russell-Smith crossed for a try, while Josiah Pahulu also featured for the Tigers.

The Tigers closed out their 2025 campaign in ninth place, narrowly missing the finals.

North Sydney Bears

The Bears ended their season on a high with a dominant 54-6 victory over Parramatta Eels.

North Sydney controlled the match from the outset, leading 24-6 at half-time before piling on five unanswered tries in the second half.

The Bears finished their 2025 season in tenth position on the ladder.
