Feeder Report: Round 22 and Round 25

Melbourne Storm’s feeder teams — the Sunshine Coast Falcons, Brisbane Tigers and North Sydney Bears — were in action over the weekend in Round 22 of the Queensland Cup and Round 25 of the NSW Cup, with the Tigers enjoying a bye.

Sunshine Coast Falcons

The Falcons recorded a strong 30-12 win over the Ipswich Jets.

The first half was relatively tight, with the Falcons holding a narrow 12-6 lead at the break. After half-time they took control, dominating the contest and piling on scoreboard pressure to secure victory.

Lazarus Vaalepu and Will Warbrick were standouts in the win, with Warbrick marking his return from a long concussion recovery by crossing for a try.

The Falcons will look to extend their winning form when they face the Burleigh Bears this Saturday in their final home-and-away game of the season.

Brisbane Tigers

The Tigers claimed a convincing 40-20 victory over the Western Clydesdales.

They were dominant from the outset, taking a 22-12 lead into half-time before continuing their momentum in the second half to seal the win.

Kane Bradley, Keagan Russell-Smith and Josiah Pahulu all impressed, with Russell-Smith bagging a double and Bradley also getting a try.

The Tigers will look to finish their season strongly when they meet Wynnum Manly this weekend.

North Sydney Bears

The Bears went down 38-18 to Manly in a tough contest.

They trailed from the outset and were behind 22-6 at half-time. Despite a couple of tries after the break, the fightback wasn’t enough to close the gap.

Norths will be eager to bounce back when they face the Parramatta Eels in their final game of the year.
