Melbourne Storm will make every point count when they take on the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in Round 20, proudly supporting Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Now in its ninth consecutive year, Storm is once again partnering with Starlight to raise vital funds to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.
Fans are encouraged to get behind the cause at AAMI Park on Saturday 19 July by pledging a virtual donation or taking part in the many fundraising activities planned for game day.
The evening will be transformed into Starlight Under the Stars, with a host of family friendly activations across the AAMI Park precinct. Volunteers will be on site collecting donations and selling the much-loved Starlight wands, which will light up the stadium in a special pre-game moment.
For every try or conversion scored by Storm, major partner RedZed will generously donate $1,000 to Starlight.
At half-time, the ‘Convert for the Kids’ goal-kicking challenge, proudly supported by CitiPower, will see an additional $1,000 donated for every successful kick.
Solar Battery Group are also powering the cause with a $25,000 one-off donation to Starlight.
Starlight families will enjoy a range of unforgettable experiences on the night, including the guard of honour, coin toss, ball delivery, sideline viewing, and the opportunity to run out alongside the players as junior mascots.
Supporters purchasing match tickets will also have the option to include a donation to Starlight at checkout.
Over the past month, Storm players Josh King, Bronson Garlick, Eli Katoa, Alec MacDonald, Moses Leo, Jonah Pezet, Sua Fa'alogo, Ativalu Lisati, and Kane Bradley have visited the Starlight Express Room at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
“It’s so special for us at Melbourne Storm to once again partner with Starlight Children’s Foundation for the ninth year in a row,” Storm forward Josh King said.
“To be able to bring some joy and laughter to these kids is something we never take for granted. They continue to inspire our playing group every day. It reminds us that there’s more to life than footy.”
In 2024, the Storm community rallied together to raise a record-breaking $77,000 for Starlight.
