Feeder report: Round 13 & 14

The North Sydney Bears run of narrow victories continued in Round 14 of the Knock On Effect NSW Cup, last year’s grand finalists winning their third consecutive match by a margin of six-points, prevailing 22-16 over the Panthers.

Leading 12-0 at halftime the Bears survived a second half scare to hold on for their ninth win of the season, with Dean Ieremia producing a solid shift and running for 168 metres and making two tackle-breaks at centre.

Meanwhile in the HostPlus Cup, the Brisbane Tigers fell just short of producing a second half comeback of their own, falling 18-16 to the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in Round 13.

Despite his side unable to secure the result, Kane Bradley impressed, registering two tries, two linebreaks, five tackle breaks and running for 193 metres.

Fellow feeder outfit the Sunshine Coast Falcons enjoyed a bye over the weekend, now refreshed and ready to take on the PNG Hunters at Sunshine Coast Stadium next week.

Eager to bounce back in style, the Brisbane Tigers will gear up to face the Burleigh Bears while the North Sydney Bears will take on the Jets in the Knock On Effect NSW Cup.
