Geyer to return to Gold Coast

Melbourne Storm hooker, Cole Geyer, has announced he will return home to the Gold Coast to play for the Burleigh Bears in the QRL competition beginning this season.

Signed by Storm at the end of 2021, Geyer advised his Storm team-mates of the move this morning after their captain’s run at AAMI Park.

“Cole has been a wonderful contributor and a great person to have at our club from the moment he walked in the door back in 2021,” General Manager Football, Frank Ponissi said.

He has shown great loyalty and commitment to the Club, being very patient playing with Brisbane Easts over the last two seasons and being a big part in last season’s Premiership winning team.

“This is a great opportunity for Cole and wish him all the very best for the future.” Ponissi said.

Cole was awarded the Melbourne Storm Under 21’s Darren Bell Medal in 2022 and played 18 games for Easts over two seasons.
