Season in Review: Trent Loiero

Following a year off the bench in 2022, Trent Loiero found a permanent place amongst the Melbourne Storm forward pack in 2023 with one of his most consistent seasons to date.

The young 22-year-old continued to improve in his third season in the purple jersey, recording the Club’s most in-season appearances for the year (alongside forward Josh King) with 26.

With veteran forwards departing the Club at the beginning of the year, Loiero slotted in nicely to Craig Bellamy’s new-look defensive line going on to lay down two tries, two line-breaks, two line-break assists, 891 tackles with 91% efficiency and a total 2620 run metres by the end of the year.

The Kawana Dolphins junior didn’t stop there clocking in 982 post-contact metres, the second most for the Club, equal to winger Will Warbrick.
